I'm a big Billy Sheehan fan and have been heavily influenced by him over the years, therefore I enjoy the occasional tapping spree (although it gets a bit tricky fitting it into the material we do with HMV - but I still try when mike's not watching!).
Are there any other tappers out there or am I fairly lonely?

I'm trying too. I learnt the tapped part to Stu Hamm's country music (a night in hell) and have done some simple arpeggio stuff. Tried to learn moonlight sonata til I realised I was trying to run before I could walk!

I can play moonlight sonata! Have you got the tab to it or have you worked it out or do u have the sheet music?? the tab on his website is wrong!! Stu hamm is great!! abit cheesy tho!! its easier to tap if you action is as low as it can go! Sexually Active is another good tapping song,
Try putting your fingers on a table and moving the same fingers on each hand at the same time ie moving the index of the RH with LH! then move to ur middle finger then ring then pinky and then go back! Then try moving you index of ur RH with the pinky on ur LH it all helps!! it was on a website somewhere?!?!?

I took the tab from Stu's website. I'm having a problem with the fingering, I've been watching Stu do it but it's difficult to see properly. I don't have too much trouble with using both hands for different rhythms (Playing piano helps there). I've got the sheet music in the loft somewhere, maybe I can arrange that for bass.

play the bass notes on the E string like it says but play the quaver part on the A and D string rather than the D and G its a lot easier, you dont have to go all cross hands!! He has done a video on tapping that you can buy and he shows you how do play it, i dont know if its still available tho!

Another, slightly easier one to try is his take on Bach's Prelude in C. I tried transcribing it from the sheet music a while back but haven't heard his version for a few years now.

The first thing i learned witht apping was all along the watchtower its pretty simple For the guitar You have 4 bars for the chords Aminor G F and g and over those chords the bass plays each root note with the left hand and the 5th and the octave on the right hand (R) = RIGHT HAND (L) = LEFT HAND Index finger = (I) Middle finger = (M) Ring finger = (r) so it will look like this (hopefully) [A minor------------G--------------F------------G G------------14-------------12-----------6---------------12-- D--------14-------------12------------6--------------12----- A----12-------------10-------------8-------------10---------- E--------------------------------------------------------------- ---R L L--------R L L ----- R L L--------R L L ----m i m-------m i m------m i m--------m i m

that was the first thing I learned to tap too!
you can vary it by coming back to the fifth after the octave: Aminor (can be used for A major too) G--------14- D-----14---14 A--12-------- E-------------
or by playing the fifth and the octave together:
G------14---14 D------14---14 A--12-------- E-------------
