try tunning your bass in 5th instead of 4ths so the strings are tuned to c, g,d,a. this will give you a bigger variety of notes but will pratically mean you will hav to learn to play the bass again. Also the 7th fret= the next string above instead of the 5th.
A interval of a 5th is played on the same fret going up 1 string ie 1st frett on the C sting which is C# whos 5th is G# is the 1st frett on the G string.
Going down in pitch its and interval of a 5th is, 3 fets (counting the fret u are on as the first fret of the 3) away going up the frett bord on the string dricectly bellow it in pictch. so 3rd on the Gstring which is A# whos 5th is # which is the 5th fret on the C string
An octave is played going back 3 fretts 2 strings away ie 3rd frett on the C sting which is d# = 1st on the d string. hav fun guys turns the bass in to a whole new instrument
