Can anyone explain the double thumbing, technique, i knw its done with a downstroke then an upstroke using the thumb, but i cant seem to figure it out

think of your thumb as a plectrum, simple. Just wobble ur wrist alot thats what i do, and it works. Dont move your thumb, use your wrist!!

Yeah, That's basically it. The hardest bit, if you're already used to slapping is not bouncing your thumb off the string. For instance, using "normal" slap on the low E, you'd hit the string against the fret with our thumb and your thumb then bounces off. To use double thumbing, the thumb needs to hit the E but keep going "through" the string so that it ends up between the E and A strings. You then catch the E string with your thumb on the way back up.

Ryan's a bit of a keen double thumb slap technique - often used by Mark King of Level 42 i believe.

Im sorry but Victor Wooten is the man for the double thumb technique, theres a video showing you his technique going around soulseek or Kazaa!!

Mark King has more of a double hit teq where as Wooten strikes on the down then the up also adding in pops with the fingers... If yer get me lol...
Wait for the Bass&Beyond 'Blaggers' e-book as i will be including King/Wooten/Miller/Balzary teq in this!
