I said god damn!!!!!
Myself and funky paul (GranTorionBassMan) Attended the level 42 gig at the Civic Hall last night and what a night I have to say I was expecting a cheesy 80’s pop flop show but it was a funky hard core slap fest with absolute brilliant musicians!!!!!
A good good friend of mine ‘Nikki Rous’ supported them so after the show I had the chance to go back stage and meet the guys (luvly lol…) I managed to pass a CD of my solo work, with a mark king solo on it, he will have fun laughing at that lol… I also passed on the Bass Beyond info and invited him to become a moderator (fingers crossed)
Go see level42 the man has stacks of groove!!!!
Peace and luv…. De-la

I was totally gobsmacked - I didn't know what to expect as I've never really been a Level 42 fan, it wasn't really my era and they passed me by. But I have to say I was totally impresed by the fantastic musicianship that was on show. I knew Mark King was a fantastic fandangling bass player but to play all that funky assed slap groove and sing at the same time is beyond comprehension Respect to the 42's Big respect to our mate Nikki who supported them. She was fantastic as always - If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have gone because she got me on the guestlist . Cheers Nikki x I would recommend any bass player to go and catch these guys at least once.

A mate of mine used to know his brother and apparently he's a bit tasty on bass too.
